In Lance's opportunity thread, I mentioned having measured the braces on a 50s (IIRC) Martin that had had its braces scalloped. I dug around and found my notes from the early 70s and here's what I found. Bear in mind, I don't recall whether Lundberg had actually done the work, but it was hanging in his shop, so it's likely he had. I was a regular drooler there and one of the clerks who I'd gotten to be friends with said it would be OK if I measured it. It was a D-28. Note that I have a value for #12, but don't know where it came from, so here it is FWIW. I wouldn't suggest using this as the sole basis for scalloping, but might be of value FYI.Those dimensions taken along the lengths of the braces are measured from the side of the respective X-brace, not the center. Also note that the #3 dimension is redundant; I hadn't learned anything about dimensioned drawings yet.
